PAPER SUMMARY

The same problem. Still unsolved.

Distribution is central to every investment manager's commercial strategy. Yet the data underpinning it, covering fees, rebates, contracts, client records and product information, remains fragmented across spreadsheets, legacy platforms and disconnected systems.

FE fundinfo convened senior leaders from operations, distribution, product, sales and data governance at a London roundtable to examine why. The discussion surfaced a clear conclusion: this is not a technology failure. It is a governance and operating model challenge.

Most investment managers already have the systems they need. What they lack is the ownership structure, data standards and integrated processes to make those systems work together reliably.
