FE fundinfo tackles fragmented fund registration with a connected capability for investment managers

New Nexus for Investment Managers functionality brings global fund registration information into one live view, providing greater visibility across the registration lifecycle through a single platform

FE fundinfo has today announced an enhancement to its Global Fund Registration (GFR) service to address fragmentation in fund registration. Investment managers and management companies (ManCos) will now have a single view of their fund registration lifecycle, from initial registration requests to audit, within FE fundinfo’s Nexus for Investment Managers platform. The capability is an enhancement to FE fundinfo’s existing GFR service.

Registration information and updates often sit across disconnected sources, including email chains, spreadsheets and phone calls, making it harder for teams to track activity and share updates internally. The new GFR enhancement addresses this key operational challenge by giving users persistent access to registration information within Nexus for Investment Managers. Changes and maintenance actions are tracked, auditable and reportable in one place.

Key capabilities of the enhanced GFR service include:

  • Manage registration amendments: request and monitor the addition or removal of sub-funds and share classes, giving users greater visibility of progress.

  • Manage registrations in new countries: request new registration of umbrella funds in additional countries and track activity within the same platform.

  • Access documents and data in-platform: information is available at every step of the registration lifecycle, giving investment managers and ManCos faster access without having to track it across different channels.

  • Track key dates: view day-specific dates, providing greater precision and tracking to help manage deadlines.

  • Support regulatory reporting and submissions: audit fund registrations through a full audit trail, status summaries and downloadable history, providing real-time visibility in one place.

Together, these capabilities give investment managers and ManCos greater visibility of where registrations stand, what activity is coming next and the progress of tasks already in motion.

The enhancement builds on FE fundinfo’s current GFR service, which already supports over 100 GFR clients and fund registrations across more than 75 jurisdictions, and forms part of its wider Nexus roadmap to create a more connected fund lifecycle. Nexus for Investment Managers connects the data and workflows used across the investment product lifecycle, allowing trusted product data mastered within the platform to flow into downstream workflows spanning global fund registration, regulatory document production, dissemination and distribution.

Paul Poletti-Gadd, Head of Asset Management Products at FE fundinfo, said:

“Fund registration can be complex, particularly across multiple funds and jurisdictions, making clear and consistent visibility of progress critical. Our enhanced Global Fund Registration Service brings registration activity together in one place, while maintaining the expertise and relationships clients rely on from their Registration Managers. By connecting product mastering, registration, regulatory document production and dissemination, we’re bringing more of the fund lifecycle together within Nexus for Investment Managers.”

James Sudweeks, Manager, Product Management at Redwheel, added:

"Having a live version of ongoing projects is really useful, and the reports make it much easier to report information to our fund board."

FE fundinfo is rolling out the enhancement across its existing GFR client base, and showcasing it to prospective investment managers and ManCos. Initial feedback has been positive, with firms highlighting the greater detail available in task reporting and the potential to streamline internal processes, particularly how registration data and updates are communicated across teams.
